Hello again from Jer & Sooz, or JerSooz in Bakersfield California.

We've been enjoying short trips around our new area (Kern County) between working our regular jobs and taking care of daily life. The most recent mini-trip we took was to visit Jer's sister where she stays during peach canning season which is about an hour to the north of here.

Our mission: To have fun and come home with some fresh fruit from a roadside fruit stand.

The town where she works is called Kingsburg and it has a personality all it's own. It is modeled after a Swedish town with several unique murals through the city, many historic buildings and a very unusual water tower. If you look at the picture it is actually a tea pot water tower.

Once there you can stroll through the downtown area, dine on anything from Swedish pastries to pizza or Chinese, and visit the Historic Jail. The people are friendly, the weather is gorgeous and you will be in range of some of the finest fresh fruit stands in the world.

In terms of weather you will appreciate the clear skies of Southern California especially inland a ways where the mountains block most of the fog wind and rain. Sure, summer might become a little warm but that's what air conditioners and slurpies are for!

When we can't get away we like to "go" fun places right here online. For instance, about a week ago we "visited" the annual Burning Man  Celebrationin the desert of Nevada.

This is a celebration of art, life cooperation and a week long participation only event held in the desert of Nevada where a temporary city is built, streets are named, a new burning Man is erected to be burnt to the ground on the final evening as a finale.

Artists and other interested parties from around the globe join together to share their art and cooperate throughout the week to make it the most memorable and self sufficient of times. Some, continue their experience in  regular daily life and refer to themselves as "burners", those who consider this event a permanent and ongoing part of their lives.

Since we are fond of travel by motorcycle, Harley Davidson to be exact, and all the fun places to go and things to do on one we built our own Harley-Harley Parts Website, just for fun. Have a visit and see that yes, we are having fun!
