It's been an unseasonably cold week here in Bakersfield. As you may have read if you clicked the link to the picture above the weather has affected more than the citrus industry. This freeze has hurt over 60,000 citrus industry family members and cost in well over a billion dollars to the citrus growers...so far. It is such a tragedy to know how many people in our community are going to be out of work due to this freeze, and even though the Govenor has submitted for federal aid the families will be hurt the most. As for us, we're wearing layers upon layers of clothes and extra blankets at night. Our families basically laugh at us because their weather in Oklahoma and Washington States more resembles Alaska! Of course we know better than to look for sympathy there. Last Week it was PC Meltdown, This week Our Main Web-Server Went Down Tensions ran high over the past week as we frantically tried to get our main server to function. Upon uploading this newsletter, The JerSooz Ezine we discovered we could no longer upload any files. We tried every possible combination to upload files to no avail. Then as a last resort, or should we say the beginning of a long ongoing 1 way Tech Support trouble Ticket...we finally began calling and writing to our webserver (we wont mention their name).  The frustration levels began to build as we discovered our web based email was no longer working. Our Trouble Tickets were going unanswered so finally we began calling the Sales Telephone number. This got us through and finally after we annoyed them enough they admitted they were changing over to a different server. It was somewhat of a relief, but we saw no end to it in sight. The fear we may have to move our 5 years of work including this, over 246 page ezine...to another server well...just wasn't overly appealing. So, we hung in there the cut-off date being today. Today was the day we were going to give up and move on. Then, last night a miracle happened! It was early afternoon when we noticed our web-based emails were beginning to trickle in. Yay! But we weren't out of the woods yet, oh no no no. Some emails were functioning others werent. Hours passed and finally we attempted an upload of this ezine over to sooz58.com. ! Bingo! It worked!
