Buck Owens Passes On

We sadly announce the passing of our local Country Legend, a man who helped shape country music, Buck Owens 76 years old. Buck Owens drove home on Saturday night after performing at The Crystal Palace then passed in his sleep at his home in North Bakersfield. He was loved by many and will be missed.
Since coming to Bakersfield we had a plan to use our Dinner-For-Two tickets at Buck Owens Crystal Palace SteakHouse, but never found the "right time". Even though Buck won't be there any longer we plan to go soon to pay our respects and watch Buck's Band The Buckaroo's play.

The Man who We being New to the Area Pointed out the Bakersfield Sign and said Yeah Buck Paid to get it Restored...He told Us of His Other Antique Car and Glowed with the Story of How has Pictures of it Under the Sign that stands right in Front of the Crystal Palace

He told Us of All the Many Times came and saw all the Country Entertainers...More then He could even Recount...How have the Dance Nights and how the Many Times He and His Family have came down just to Dance...The Fun of Karoake Nights and the Fantastic Food has eaten...Yeah a True Fan of Bucks and How Buck always tried to Welcome and Make everybody feel Comfortable...This Man Himself truly amazing himself as He was Saddened by Bucks Passing He took time to let Us get a Picture

We thought when first moved here they were putting something in the Water to Make People Friendly...When in Reality its the Family Values and Morals and the Pride Bakersfield takes in itself...Being a Bit Country...Being a Bit Outlaw...Being a Bit Redneck...Being a Bit Okie...Being a Bit Texan...The Last 2 explained in the History of Bakersfield during the Depression and the Dust Bowl of that Era People Moved to Bakersfield for a New Place to Live...The Story "Grapes of Wrath" was truly the Story Telling of Our New Found Home ...Whereby from these Beginnings Buck Owens never Lost His Roots and always Treated People with Respect is also How Buck will always be Remembered...
