Buck Owens drove home on Saturday night after performing at The Crystal Palace then passed in his sleep at his home in North Bakersfield. He was loved by many and will be missed. Since coming to Bakersfield we had a plan to use our Dinner-For-Two tickets at Buck Owens Crystal Palace SteakHouse, but never found the "right time". Even though Buck won't be there any longer we plan to go soon to pay our respects and watch Buck's Band The Buckaroo's play. Spring has officially begun and we are thankful the days are getting longer and warmer. Even though we are in the more moderate area of the U.S.A. called lovingly the bottom of Northern California being the Grapevine on Interstate 5 is a mere 35 miles from Us. This is the Mountain Range that separates what is Northern and Southern California. It has been a long cold winter for us though not merely as bad as other parts of USA. We have room to whine being sacrifices we had to bear with heating bills being higher this year as others have suffered we're sure you're also included. California can be cold too, braced up against the Grapevine to the South and the Tehachapi to the East of Us it gets quite briskly chilly, the type that seems to as they say Cut You to the bone cold even in Bakersfield. Yes Quite a New Learning Experience though the what is called by Bakersfieldians the Deathly Fog as warned against wasn't as evident this Year due to a lower Rain season. Oh No the Thrills of New Home Ownership...True Fixer Upper to Boot The new house was cold and damp inside and we wondered if the previous, temporary residents had gone without heat all winter. We know for sure that our new homes natural gas had been shut off so it could be tented and bombed for termites, earwigs, roaches, ants and other creatures. Traditionally the main gas line is shut off before the home is tented, for safety reasons. When we moved in and had the natural gas turned back on the heating furnace didn't work. Thank God for New Home Owner Warranties...Make sure included in New Home Mortgage Weeks went by and finally after we were sure our home-owners insurance was going to cover it, and we had all battled the various flu's and colds of the season long enough, we called in a furnace repair company. The repairman checked it, then took a part off our furnace and left. It was a Friday in the afternoon and after he left we looked at the time shaking our heads knowing we wouldn't be seeing him until the following week. Nearly another week went by, Yes Thursday to be exact, before he returned with the part to fix it. What an incredible difference a little heat can do! We were amazed at how the heat brought us back to life. We could finally shed all those layers of sweaters, socks and sweat pants. The dampness inside the house from the winter months without heat had vanished and we were warm again. LindseyGurl Update Our Hats Go Off To You Lindsey!  Linds has been present in school without missing a single day so far. Even though she has been the first recipient of the colds and flu's we've gotten her school attendance has been perfect. Her new school, Beardsley Middle School is located about one and a half miles South East of our house. She rides the school bus to and from school which picks up and drops off about 3 blocks away. There have been rumors that our Lindsey, or Linds or Lindseygurl hasn't been participating in the home projects we've been doing around here. It is true she is supposed to visit with her Dad every other weekend and that is usually the main time we do our big projects. Just for the record, to dis-spell these myths we, along with the help of the Local Paparazzi aka Our Digital Camera and Big Dream to Capture the Moment have obtained proof that Lindsey has been doing some Work to help beautify our new home after all. This was the Place that Linds in Her Trying to be an Independent Child fell into what could be...Yes Described as Having the Wrong Friends and Yes at that Time the Wrong Attitude...Like the Rap The Heavy Metal Heavy Metallic Bands...Yes the Goth..Yes as the Punk Movement...MTV VH1 Music...Video...TV and Current Movies...Yes Jerry Springer...Maury Povich...Cops...even America's Most Wanted...Portraits that Depict to Our Youth Today and Yes sometimes Our Kids try to Mimmick...You had to Act Hard...Act Gangsta...Try to Wear The Black Makeup...Do the Body Piercings...You had to Be a Bad Girl to Fit in with an Attitude to Match though to Linds She was Not to Herself in Her Mind like Her Friends...Though the Meanness it Breeds She also did Not See and Sometimes even Today doesn't...She saw Herself only as the Peers She chose...Just another Teenager and what could Go Wrong...did cause issues even with Jers advice and trying to Help her Succeed Yes Read Whoops Jer Again. Lets just say as Jer always explained to Linds and Sooz why work 5 times harder then just Living Life by Simple Rules. Better Yet why Not Lose the Attitude...Lose the Makeup...Just Try to Fit in without Drawing Attention to Yourself? These Words went Unheeded thereby causing what was ultimately to become a Rough Lesson in Life for Her 2 Best Friends Left behind. Linds was Taken out of there to go and Yes Folks given a New Life, a New Beginning. Daughter...Yes a Child at 13 nearly 14 Years Old does know the Difference There was No Abandonment...True Facts be Known...A Simple Explanation it's Not  There is also His Inability to See...No Sooz did not Abandon Her Daughter Linds...What was Jer and Linds True Motives Let Sooz Resolve Her issues...Yes Truly End that New Beginning Started elsewhere that Truly Revealed itself in a More Negative Way then could be Imagined...Promises Sooz felt had to Complete...These to be Learned later the True Reason Sooz having Unspoken Issues to Resolve...These Promises...Made to Fulfill Promises of Work still left Uncompleted...Help Close out and Move the Richard Beyer Foundation Artwork and Other Things...Her Getting Stranded with Her Cherokee broken down...Not Knowing as it Ultimately turned out to be a Broken Starter not a More Thought out Problem a Frozen Engine...Yes a Simple Fix not a Total Breakdown...More importantly Unsure to Ask anyone for Help Sooz has had to Learn a Harsh Lesson...Your Friends may Truly be Not what they seem...No Matter how Hard You try Others Attitudes will Never Change...New Beginnings sometimes are Merely Falsehoods filled with False Promises...The Person going to is Not the Person You thought they were and Things may change the Moment You Get there...Most Importantly Follow Your Heart when it says...This Won't Work out!...Follow the Bell Ringing in Your Head...It Truly is the Warning Your Right in Your 1st Assessment...Follow Your Own Advice...Better Yet Listen to Others...They see Things You May Not merely by Your Actions  Whereby Originally before Leaving it was Agreed to Linds remain with Jer so could Go to School...be where She Truly wanted to be in a Home Enviroment...This Idea turned Quickly to something not even Imagined...As Previously Stated a True Nightmare with More Legal Issues and Expenditures then can even Imagine...though Yes even Sooz would Agree even Herself if Hearing the Things said would be like 99.999% of People Given the Facts as Portrayed say a Good Case to Go On Abandonment...Not Understanding the Circumstances...Her Dad Took the Ball and Ran with it...Even though Linds Herself saying was Not the Case as Jer Himself has said...Linds Loves Her Mom and wants to Live with Her Mom...Not Her Dad as She Herself has said all along What are the True Motives...Where is the Proof Unless to Blame Others Linds truly Feels Loved with Jer and Sooz whereas with Her Dad She Feels as a Pawn in a Chess Game a Way to Get Back at Sooz for Leaving Him in the 1st Place not the True Reason his Drug and Alcohol usage or His Still Only Calling Linds when was Convenient for Him Not as the Saying Goes Him Moving Heaven and Earth for Linds by what We can't even Address in this Matter Due to Legal Bill Costs and The Costs probably never being Recovered...That is an Entirely Different issue so its Gravity is not Weighed in this Legal Action as to His True Character or Contempt of Authority as previously stated... His inability or Lets Call the Kettle Black His Refusal to even Pay Child Support better Yet his Wanton Deep Seated Desire to Stop what is Owed...Has Asked for Sooz to Merely File False Reports or Try Extortion Tactics to Make the District Attorney to think He's Paying Support when Not...Which Sooz has refused being it is His Obligation and Legally can't in the 1st Place wipe out this debt with a wave of the Hand this has Only Maddened and Angered Him...This Money as All Other Children of Divorce or Out of Wed Lock being Truly the Responsible Parent Responsibility to Pay...This Linds as Well as Other Kids in Similar Situations if Understand as Jer always did in the 12 1/2 Years Paying for His Own Son and Daughter Support...Should always be seen as Not only Helping in the Support of the Child but also Possibly College Education or Future Money to Help them in Life...This Responsibilty Not to be Taken Lightly for a True Parent Who Cares...Falls on Linds Dads Deafened Ears...Its I will Never Pay You a Dime Suzie...Sooz Nick Name short for Susan always said in a Look what You Owe Me Tone...Help Me get out of Paying this...I Owe You Nothing when Truly is Linds Money...Truly Her He Owes and the Money if ever seen is Truly Hers...Then How would He ever Get it if Not Paying it in 1st Place instead has Made it All about Her Mom...Not Him or His Inabilty to do what's Right for even His Own Daughter This Responsibility Jer has even when Times away sent Money for Expenses Gas etc...Jer has since Dec 8th 2001 undertaken as well as now the Legal Bills so Linds Voice will Hopefully be Heard...Jer and Sooz Refusing to Take Money from Him Linds Dad in the 1st Place though He will Never Believe...Though Himself Begging Sooz for Money over the Summer time when 1st time had Her for more then 2 weeks...The Same Man who can't even Give Proof of His Income or even Show a Legal Residence He Himself has had in his Name for His almost Total Adult Life The Question asked or Should be where Truly is the Proof He even Cares about His Own Daughter Safety...Can Provide a Safe Place for Her to even Visit...That will be there the Next Time even or as always as Linds has in Past Visits been Shuffled from Place to Place Nightly or even Longest Stay Weekly...Or Having Others See How Truly Linds Lives even when Visits with Him...Ashamed for Her Well being they can't step in and themselves take Her away or to Afraid to Call Authorities they stay Silent or worse Aid Him trying to Help His Actions and His Blindness to the Facts...Now has Alienated Her...Yes Folks His Own Daughter afraid to Talk to Him for Fear He will only Tell Her to Shut Up or Better Yet Not Still Truly Hear She wants to Live with Us...Jer and Sooz as have Already to Police and Legal Officials in Court Only Not to be Heard Her True Wishes still...They View it as Maybe as stated a 50/50 Coin Toss...Neither Parent as Viewed a Good One...by Yes Merely Presented Facts Who can Possibly be the Bigger liar...Whose the Most Trust Worthy...Whose Story Can We Truly Believe then Yes even We'd Admit it as the Previous Example as to Sooz Abandonment Charge be Truly a 99.999% Toss the Coin and Let the Best Person Win...Not Truly ever taking into Account Linds Wishes to be With Her Mom No Matter How the Coin Falls This Maddens Him and Further Adds to His Delirium  and Supposed Thought of Her Dad that She Linds has No Mind at 13 Years Old and Can't Make Decisions for Herself when it is Himself that can Not Hear Her Voice to Him Dad I Love You but I do Not Want to Live With You...No I Do Not Condone Your Life Style or Your  Attitude...No I Do Not want to Live the Life of Nearly a Homeless Person and Most of All I Do Not want to be Lied to...Foremostly I am Afraid with Your Anger...Your Self Denial...You Will Fly Off in a Fit of Rage and Drive Drunk or High with Me in the Car as have in the Past Physically put Me in the Car...Then Told Me to Quit being a Baby about it as Drove Wildly over Winding Twisting Mountains in the Santa Barbara Area nearly going off the Road Countless times in a Drunken or Pot Induced Haze...Not exactly a Picture any Concerned Adult or Parent wants their Child to be Part of  Theres even the True Story of How Linds Dad even when Given the Chance to have Christmas Vacation where She was allowed to stay with Him though Sooz was Granted Her Rights by the Santa Barbara Special Intervention Squad as We have Told in Lind Wishes the Story of His Return Linds to Her Mom on Christmas...In His Anger the True Story He Himself did...Seems Nobody Legal wise except Jer and Sooz's Attorney seems to Hear...as Linds Tells it Herself Her in Her Fear of Her Dad...how Dec 23rd Linds Dad Opened a Bottle of Wine and with Linds in the Car Drove till almost to Bakersfield Mad  and it was Gone and Not till then Did He Turn around...Spewing Out of His Mouth Driving Hate for Linds Mom and Jer and Others...Linds as She Feels Not with a Concern to Me or Others who have Always Tried to Work with Him...Yes Words from Linds Own Mouth...Though seems No Others Listen to Her Not even Her Own Dad or the Court Systems or Her Court Appointed Attorney who says...because didn't Truly also Listen...Said if She did say these things to Him Now or Other Things...We will have Coherced Her into saying them though thats been Linds Words all along after Her Dad has set out in His Own Self Admitted Anger...His Anger for Sooz who Left Him Originally for His Drug usuage after witnessing Him Flailing on a Bathroom Floor like a Fish in a Near OD This Now is Still Coming around Full Circle with Alcohol and Nearly Daily Pot Smoking that when Tested Positive told the Legal System He had Given Up Both...though the Most Current Tests are a Level that should have Tested Clean or Nearly Clean 6 weeks after Original Test Nearly at time nearly 2 Months this being 2 weeks ago...Showed what We're led to Believe a Miracle it didn't go Down by Much in Level nearly the Same Reading...This after not Showing up as We have Stated 1st Visit No Drug Testing there No Phone Call even...this as viewed in Prior Ezine as a Good Faith Gesture to Follow the Court Mandated Visitation...were at both Meetings at 1/2 way Point Ready to Drop Linds off  the 2nd being 2 weeks ago...Linds Dad Picked Her Up then Nearly the Whole weekend Spent it Drinking Alcohol though Court Minutes Expressly Stated Neither Custodial Parent can be under the Influence of either Alcohol or Drugs during Visitation. Sooz was Clean on Her Drug Tests and being We Don't Drink can Pass an Alcohol Test any time, proving another False Statement Linds Dad made against Sooz Linds Dad stated to Her and just Merely this 1st time Re-established after not seeing Linds since Christmas Day...Don't Tell Anyone I have been Drinking or I can be in Deep trouble with the Lawyers and the Judge...Then Recanted had Only One Beer when Linds confronted Him with Her Own Dad You were Drinking when...He Himself Called Her Shouting that She had Set Him Up when She filmed Him with Her Video Camera...The Camera Linds Herself took even against Sooz and Jer Wishes...Sooz Own Fear He'd Confiscate it and Mysteriously Lost it being would not truly allow Linds to Talk to Her Mom and expressly stated No Calls to Jer as had Her Cell Phone Provided to Contact Him for Past 2 Plus Years so He could always contact Her...Yes Folks the Phone always Answered or Passed to Linds if Her Dad ever Called...Phone Records also showing when Calls Made to and from...so we have done our part continually and consistantly to make sure Linds Dad can contact her any time. Our Anticipation and Hopes When Moving to Bakersfield When we moved here we were ecstatic with the hopes and visions of having a great relationship with Lindsey's Dad. We looked forward to the ease in getting to and from Santa Barbara in comparison to Sacramento and short drive (less than 2 and a half hours) between Bakersfield and Santa Barbara. We were excited thinking Linds and her Dad would have a better chance to know each other and be able to spend more Quality Time together. We also had hopes that we could spend more time as a couple and enrich our relationship during the times Lindsey would be with her Dad. The tables have turned because of Linds Dads stubbernness, personal vendetta against Sooz and unwillingness to listen to and adhere to the Court Requirements it is sad to say none of our Great Expectations have become a reality. The truth is it is painful and frustrating, not to mention being financially cumbersome to have to take these measures to make sure Lindsey is safe. This is our main concern. Finally it is time for Linds Dad to deal with the issues of quitting drugs and alcohol, finally do it if not for himself then for his daughter, and make it stick. Until he does this, Linds safety is threatened every time she steps into his car to go anywhere with him. Today Is The Day We Never Wanted To Happen When Sooz attorney called on Tuesday of this week and told her that Linds Dad had forfeited this weeks visit by showing dirty on his drug test it opened the door to other things we must do. After reviewing the Court Minutes it became clear that his drug tests should be negative by now, so if he had actually quit using like he told the judge, then he would be able to have the visit as arranged. The court orders also state that the parent responsible for Linds is not to drink alcohol or use drugs while in their care. Linds report that her Dad "drank continually" during their last visit is enough for us to believe for her safety and to follow the court orders that visitation will be forfeited this weekend. Linds Dad called Wednesday about the upcoming visit and we had to break the news to him that he had forfeited this weekends visit. Numerous phone calls followed with Linds Dad threatening if we didn't show up Friday he would bring the Police to our door and have Sooz arrested for contempt of court for not following the court orders. These, being threats are consdiered harassment also directly violates the present restraining and court orders. Linds Dad does not understand that he is the one who wasn't following the court orders, not us.  This is a day we truly did not want to ever happen, but if this is what it takes to finally get his attention, and begin the changes he needs to make to get his life in order and become responsible enough to deserve the visit with his daughter, then this is what it takes. If he does show up at our door as promised this evening he will be violating the restraining order, and he might be arrested. We have done our part to try to warn him but through his shouting and threats did not hear. Can He Find Our House?  We use the Post Office box for correspondence, as a rule. As business owners it is always advised to do this not only for junk mail but as a personal right. We feel this is adequate for correspondence with Linds Dad since we are available through our cell phones at all times. But his threats to come to our door got us wondering...how easy is it to find out a persons address, where they live, online? So...we went about doing the research to find ourselves at our new house online. At first we went back and forth between the different selections of the various County and State Records websites and seemed to keep coming full circle, back to the pages we started from.  How Easy Is It to Find a Street Address? For each City, County, and State the Public Records webpage layouts and information access is a little different. There is basically a formula, slightly different for each location in the USA to use to find what you are looking for. After finding the formula for our County, Kern County, we searched for our address, then the parcel ID and then even got a map straight to our door in 10 steps! Yes, in ten steps we found our new address with only the County name and our, the property owners last name. Of course, it takes a little practice and patience but it can be fun to look your own self up on the web. Don't Pay For A Private Investigator do your own online investigation! While we were researching we wondered what else we could find out about ourselves online. There are countless Public Access, Public Information websites for City, County and State department records. But if you spend a little money you can get access to tools the real private investigators use. If you want more information about virtually anything on record we found an awesome resource. It's called Records Registry and truly is an incredible research tool! You never know when you might want to know a little more about someone then they are allowing you to know.
